Las Vegas, NV — After more than a year away from the Power Slap stage, Zach Zane is ready to make his return. He’ll meet veteran Whalen Frost at Power Slap 15 on October 3rd in Las Vegas, and he’s bringing renewed focus, intensity, and fire into the matchup
Time Away, Fire Rekindled
Zane last competed at Power Slap 8, and though the layoff has been long, he insists it has worked in his favor.
“Life’s been good. I became a lifeguard here on Maui, I’ve been coaching MMA, and just spending time with my kids, my girlfriend, and my mom,” Zane said. “Everything’s good right now, and I’m super grateful. The timing feels perfect.”
With a career record of 2–2, Zane sees Power Slap 15 as his chance to climb back into contention and prove he belongs among the sport’s elite.
Facing a Veteran Opponent
Frost, a competitor dating back to Road to the Title: Season 1, enters the bout with a 2–3 record. While Zane admits he doesn’t know much about his opponent personally, he’s approaching the fight with bad intentions.
“I don’t know anything about the guy, but I’m coming to get that highlight I deserve,” Zane explained. “If you don’t kill me, I’m gonna kill you. Straight up.”
Embracing the Size Challenge
At 6’2”, Frost will be one of the tallest opponents Zane has ever faced. But rather than being intimidated, Zane sees the size difference as an advantage.
“I’d rather fight a tall guy than a short guy. The taller they are, the harder they fall,” he said. “I just fought a 6’4” monster in MMA last month, so this doesn’t scare me.”
Training and Preparation
Now slimmed down from 195 pounds to a fighting weight around 170, Zane says his preparation has been smarter and more calculated than in the past.
“I know the science of weight cutting. I don’t do last-minute cuts that destroy your body. I’m strong, I’m ready, and I’m not going to fall,” he said.
He also pointed out the motivation he gets from coaching his son’s football team:
“The joy I saw in those boys when they won their first game — I want to feel that for myself at Power Slap.”
No More Mr. Nice Guy
While Zane spoke with respect toward Frost, he made it clear that once they step on stage, all niceties are off.
“This is the hurt business. On stage, no more Mr. Nice Guy,” Zane promised. “If you don’t kill me, I’m putting you down. I’ll shake your hand afterward, but until then, it’s war.”
Final Message to Whalen Frost
In a direct warning to his opponent, Zane didn’t mince words:
“Whalen, kill or be killed. If you don’t kill me, I’m going to break your jaw. That’s the reality.”
