Static is back.

After one of the toughest stretches of his life and career, the fan favorite returned on short notice and reminded everyone exactly why he became one of the most dangerous names in Power Slap.

And according to him, this is not the old version of Static returning.

“This is future Static.”

A Last-Minute Opportunity

Static stepped into this matchup with less than a week’s notice.

But despite the short turnaround, he says he never stopped preparing after his previous loss.

“I’ve been doing nothing but training.”

Away from competition, his life has become far more focused:

  • family
  • training
  • discipline

Even his day-to-day lifestyle changed.

“I don’t even really play games like that anymore.”

Turning Hardship Into Momentum

Static admitted the last couple years have been some of the hardest periods of his life.

But instead of letting it break him, he used the adversity as fuel.

Using a bow-and-arrow analogy, he explained how he views setbacks:

“Everything negative in life, it’s like a bow and arrow. It’s just pulling you back.”

But he believes the struggle only creates greater momentum later.

“When you get through it… the propulsion is insane.”

“This Is Future Static”

Following the victory, Slap News mentioned that it looked like the old version of Static had returned.

Static quickly corrected that.

“No, this is not the Static of old. This is future Static.”

The confidence was obvious throughout the interview, and so was the hunger.

Willing to Fight Anyone From 170 to 205

One of the biggest questions surrounding Static has always been where he fits best weight-wise.

During the interview, he made it clear:
he does not care.

“170 to 205, whoever wants it can get it.”

Whether it is:

  • welterweight,
  • middleweight,
  • light heavyweight,
  • or cruiserweight,

Static says he is ready for all of it.

The One Fight He Really Wants

Although he says he is willing to fight anybody, there is one matchup he specifically wants more than anything else:

A rematch with Wolverine.

“I want my rematch.”

Static acknowledged that he likely needs to climb back up the rankings first, but if he could choose any opponent right now, that is the fight.

“I need that.”

A New Chapter Begins

After a difficult stretch personally and professionally, Static’s return victory felt bigger than just another win.

It looked like a reset.
A recharge.
And potentially the beginning of another run.

And if “future Static” is real, the rest of the division may have problems very soon.
