Ryan “The Punisher” Kenny is back and ready to make a statement in the heavyweight division. After a tough debut against Johnny Magno, the Canadian powerhouse says he’s leveled up in every area — and he’s eager to show it against Brice Jones, a 3-0 veteran with plenty of experience inside the Power Slap cage.

“I’m really excited to get in there,” Kenny said. “Especially with someone with a little more experience. It’ll be a lot more fun, I think.”

This time, there’s no trash talk or bad blood — just respect and focus. “I met Brice back in Vegas. He’s a nice guy,” Kenny added. “We’re out there doing the same thing, same goals. Let’s just see who the better man is.”

training with babyface and building power

Kenny credits much of his growth to training with Babyface, a teammate known for his defensive technique and toughness. “That’s our biggest thing — training the neck and everything so you can take that shot,” he said. “I believe it’s one of my strong suits.”

But defense isn’t all he’s bringing this time around. Kenny’s been working to translate more of his natural power into fight-ending shots. “I do believe I possess some good power,” he said. “It’s a little bit of both — Johnny’s toughness and me improving. I’ve been strength training really well.”

going back to his roots

Kenny says he’s returned to the training that made him dangerous in the first place. “We’ve gone back to some of my old ways,” he explained. “We’re getting the power going with deadlifts. I used to love them — hurt myself bad back in the day, so I avoided them — but now it’s a lot more core and leg strength. We already have the strong upper body; we’re just fine-tuning it.”

At 255 pounds, Kenny is sitting comfortably at heavyweight — no drastic cuts needed this time. “I didn’t have to cut at all last time,” he said. “I was coming off a two-month wrestling tour across Canada, mostly eating ramen noodles, so I’d lost a lot of weight. But we’re back up now.”

from the ring to the cage

Known across Canada as a professional wrestler, Kenny says he’s temporarily stepping away from that world to focus fully on Power Slap. “This is my focus now,” he said. “I’ve taken the break from wrestling and really dove in to make sure this is my craft.”

That shift in focus comes at the perfect time. With Brice Jones riding an undefeated streak and entering as the favorite, Kenny embraces the underdog role. “Him having more experience — I absolutely deserve to be the underdog,” he admitted. “People saw me once, but I believe after my match with Brice, they’ll know who I am and remember me.”

the angry canadian lumberjack

For fans who haven’t seen him compete yet, Kenny has a clear message: “You’re gonna experience an angry Canadian lumberjack that’s ready to take some punishment — but give it right back.”

As the heavyweight division continues to heat up, Kenny’s combination of raw power, pro wrestling toughness, and quiet determination could make him one of the division’s most entertaining new names.

“Let’s just see who the better man is,” he said with a grin. “I’m ready.”
