March 7 | Fontainebleau, Las Vegas

After making waves in the heavyweight division, Logan Greenhalgh is officially making the move down to light heavyweight—and he’s bringing his power with him. At Power Slap XII, Greenhalgh faces Cody Young in what promises to be a defining moment for both fighters.

“I just felt like I was a little too small for heavyweight,” Greenhalgh explained. “Most of those guys were walking in at 280 or 290, and I was at 230 or 235. So I was starting every match at a disadvantage. It was time to move down.”

Now, fully prepared and locked in, Greenhalgh is ready to dominate.

Making Weight: The Transition to 205

Dropping to light heavyweight was a long time coming for Greenhalgh, but the process has been smooth.

“Right now, I’m sitting around 215 to 220, just fine-tuning things. I’ll make weight no problem, and by fight night, I won’t be anywhere near 205—I’ll be fully rehydrated and strong.”

Greenhalgh believes the extra time to cut properly and maintain strength will allow him to bring his heavyweight power into a faster-paced light heavyweight division.

Cody Young: A Mysterious Opponent

Unlike many of his previous fights, Greenhalgh didn’t know much about Cody Young before accepting the match. After doing some research, he wasn’t overly impressed with what he found.

“I didn’t know anything about him until I got the call. I looked him up and saw he’s only had one match. He slapped once, got hit back, and got TKO’d. And that wasn’t even from a hard hit. So yeah, I’m excited for this one.”

Greenhalgh believes his experience will be the difference-maker in this fight.

“Cody’s only slapped once in his career. I’ve had five matches, I’ve been in wars, and I’ve taken shots from guys way bigger and stronger than him. He doesn’t know what he’s walking into.”

Coin Toss Loss? No Problem

Cody Young won the coin toss and will strike first—but Greenhalgh isn’t worried at all.

“I’m going to get slapped, and then I’m going to knock him out. Simple as that,” he says confidently.

After taking multiple rounds of punishment from Dwayne Crespo, arguably one of the hardest hitters in Power Slap, Greenhalgh sees nothing in Young’s arsenal that concerns him.

“Nobody in this division has the power that Crespo had. I went three rounds with him, and I took his slaps just fine. If I can take his power, I can take anything Cody throws at me.”

While many fighters aim for a quick finish, Greenhalgh wouldn’t mind a longer fight to showcase his durability at 205.

“I want to say first-round knockout, but everyone says that. I think it’ll happen, but if we go to the second or third, I’m fine with that too. I want to show that my chin is still there at light heavyweight.”

Final Message for Cody Young

With fight night approaching, Greenhalgh had a clear and direct message for his opponent.

“Be ready to get hit. The dude you fought in the house didn’t know what he was doing. I hope you enjoy your flight from Canada, because you’re coming here to get knocked out and go right back home.”
