After a dominant win at Power Slap 12, Logan Greenhalgh is ready to return to action at Power Slap 16 in Abu Dhabi — this time against Russel Rivero, the current No. 1 contender in the light heavyweight division. With a mix of sharp confidence and veteran composure, Greenhalgh believes this fight will mark a major statement in his career.
Back in Action
“Feels amazing, honestly. I’m super excited, can’t wait,” Greenhalgh said. “I kinda knew I was gonna be on a card soon, so I’ve already been ready.”
The Utah native has been maintaining his weight and keeping his preparation consistent.
“I walk around at 210, so getting to 205 is easy. I can drop it overnight if I need to,” he explained.
Unexpected Matchup
Greenhalgh admitted that he didn’t expect Rivero to be next.
“I thought I was going to go against either Alan or Luke,” he said. “But I need a tough opponent, and I think Russell is the only one who’s really worthy.”
While Rivera enters the bout as the division’s top-ranked contender, Greenhalgh is not intimidated.
“Honestly, it’s probably gonna be his last match,” he said bluntly. “All he does is club and foul. He’s a dirty striker. I’ve seen all his matches, and nothing stands out.”
Experience and Confidence
With six Power Slap matches under his belt and a record of 3–2–1, Greenhalgh now sees himself as one of the most experienced light heavyweights in the organization.
“I’ve fought tough guys,” he said. “Crespo was my hardest opponent — that match boosted my confidence. I was heavyweight then, taking shots from a big guy like him and staying on my feet.”
Greenhalgh believes that experience will be key when facing Rivera.
“Russel’s not going to hit harder. And if he does, I’ll eat that and smile at him.”
Adapting to Rule Changes
The updated rules allowing a slight heel lift after contact have only fueled his confidence.
“That adds at least 20% more power for me,” Greenhalgh said. “I’m not that flexible, so being able to lift my heel helps a ton. I’ve only fouled twice in my whole Power Slap career — I keep it clean.”
Mindset and Motivation
When asked what drives him, Greenhalgh didn’t hesitate.
“I want that belt,” he said. “My dream would be for Wolverine to win it, and then I retire as champion after beating him — he’s the first guy I ever watched in Power Slap. And hey, the money’s good too. I get to see the world for free.”
He’s also motivated by the opportunity to travel overseas for the first time.
“I’m not a big airplane guy,” he admitted. “I don’t like the turbulence or not being in control. But I’m excited to see Abu Dhabi and experience something new.”
Keys to Victory
Greenhalgh has done his homework.
“Every time Russel gets hit, he tilts his head down,” he explained. “I’ve been working on my aim — my accuracy is sharp now. I’ve got the power and the chin. I just hope he hits hard.”
His plan is simple — stay composed, land clean, and make a statement in Abu Dhabi.
“He can club me all he wants. I’m not getting knocked out. Depends on how he wants to lose.”
Message to His Opponent
Before wrapping up, Greenhalgh had a message for Rivero:
“Good luck. You’re gonna need it. You’re not knocking me out, and you’re not beating me. But hey, enjoy the free trip to Abu Dhabi — take some pictures while you’re there.”
With confidence, composure, and a sharpened skillset, Logan Greenhalgh is heading into Power Slap 16 ready to climb back into title contention — and prove he’s one of the most durable and dangerous light heavyweights in the game.
