Nigeria’s own Kabiru Adediran is set to make his long-awaited debut on the global stage, as he steps into Power Slap competition with fire, focus, and an unshakable belief in his power. Competing in the heavyweight division, Adediran is ready to put African strength and spirit on full display when he makes the walk in Abu Dhabi.
“I’m happy for Power Slap for giving me this opportunity to show myself — to show who I be to the world,” Adediran told Slap News. “I’m very happy for this opportunity.”
FROM MMA AND BOXING TO POWER SLAP
Adediran’s journey to Power Slap wasn’t by chance — it’s the natural evolution of a lifelong athlete. With a background in boxing and MMA, Kabiru sees slap fighting as the next level of combat expression.
“I know Power Slap is right for me because I’m a strong guy,” he explained. “I do boxing, I do MMA, and now I want to take it to the next level with Power Slap. I love this sport. I’m interested in it.”
His crossover into Power Slap started back home in Nigeria, where he competed in local slap competitions long before the sport went global.
“I started Power Slap in a local way, in Nigeria,” he said. “You can go to clubs or large events — that’s where original Power Slap formed me.”
TRAINING 24/7 AND READY TO GO
When asked how prepared he is, Kabiru didn’t hesitate:
“Very, very prepared. I’m training every day — 24/7. I’m ready.”
Working closely with his coach, Adediran has focused on adapting his boxing power into the slap fighting format — a different rhythm, but the same explosiveness.
“Boxing and Power Slap are different,” he explained. “In boxing, you use knuckles. In Power Slap, you use your palm, your power. It’s different technique — same strength, different style.”
CHASING GREATNESS IN ABU DHABI
Representing Nigeria on one of the biggest stages in slap fighting, Adediran is embracing both the opportunity and the pressure.
“I’m ready for Abu Dhabi,” he said. “I want to make sure I win this fight so that next time I go with them to Las Vegas. I want to give my opponent a knockout — I don’t play.”
Currently weighing 111 kg, the powerhouse hinted he may bulk up further.
“I might go up to 120,” he said. “But I don’t want to be too big. I want to stay fast and powerful.”
FIGHTING WITH PASSION
For Kabiru, Power Slap is about more than fame or money — it’s pure passion.
“I love sport. It’s not just about the paycheck,” he said. “Power Slap is my passion. I have power, and I have passion for this.”
MESSAGE TO HIS OPPONENT
As for his opponent? Kabiru kept it short, confident, and fiery:
“I don’t care who he is. I want him to see me now — to be ready, because he’s going to see fire.”
With confidence in his voice and raw determination in his eyes, Kabiru Adediran is ready to bring Nigerian thunder to Power Slap. Fans in Abu Dhabi and around the world should brace themselves — a new powerhouse is about to make his presence felt on the global stage.
