Las Vegas, NV — The women’s division of Power Slap is set to heat up at Power Slap 15 when Julia Ho makes her long-awaited debut against Desiree Yanning on October 3rd. Ho secured her contract after a strong showing at September’s training camp, and she’s been locked in ever since.
Focused From Day One
For Ho, the call came immediately after camp, and she wasted no time shifting her life around the opportunity.
“I was there hoping like, man, I hope they pick me,” Ho said. “The next day, they called me and asked if I was free for October 3rd. I was like, hell yes.”
Everything else in her life has gone on hold as she focuses on training specifically for Power Slap. Even her background in MMA and wrestling has been paused while she sharpens the technical aspects needed for her slap-fighting debut.
Training With Power Slap Veterans
Ho has been working closely with former competitor Dwayne Cresbow Jr., who reached out before the combine to help refine her striking technique. She has also added a movement coach to build strength and conditioning, knowing she’ll be competing at a higher weight class than she prefers due to the short-notice fight.
“Luckily, I know my body really well at this point in my career. I know when something feels off, and I know how to get the right coaches to correct it,” Ho explained.
Tunnel Vision on the Task Ahead
While Desiree Yanning was at the same camp, Ho admitted she didn’t pay much attention to her potential opponent.
“I honestly didn’t even notice her there,” Ho said. “I had tunnel vision. I was in my zone.”
That mindset may serve her well on fight night. Known for her toughness and willingness to push through adversity, Ho embraces her nickname — “Will Killa.”
“My will is everything. You’ll have to knock me out to stop me,” she declared.
No Stranger to Taking Hits
Ho is confident her chin will hold up when tested. Years of grueling sparring early in her MMA career left her battle-hardened and prepared for whatever comes at Power Slap 15.
“I was sparring without headgear, getting hit every day. I’m pretty sure I was concussed for years,” Ho admitted. “So this, to me, is nothing compared to what I’ve already been through.”
Message to Desiree Yanning
Looking directly at her opponent, Ho kept it blunt:
“Desiree, I’m gonna come and smack the hell out of you. There’s a reason they call me Will Killa — and I’m going to prove it.”
What to Expect on October 3rd
With her MMA background, pro wrestling experience, and unshakable confidence, Julia Ho brings a unique mix of toughness and entertainment value to the stage. Power Slap 15 could be the start of a breakout run for her — if she can back up her words with performance.
