James Siekmann didn’t come to Saudi Arabia to be nice. The Power Slap veteran — flanked by Season 3 standout Isaac Gunther — says he’s ready to “decapitate another organization’s champion” when he faces Louis Robinson, the BritSlap titleholder, at Power Slap 17. After a disappointing loss last time out, Siekmann is gunning for a violent, statement-making comeback.
“If you die, you die,” Siekmann said bluntly. “He’s in way over his head and I’m gonna prove it.”
“If I win the coin toss, Louis won’t get to hit me”
Siekmann was unwavering when asked how the matchup plays out. He’s prepared, confident, and clear about the stakes.
“If I win the coin toss, Lewis won’t get to hit me. If he wins the coin toss, he’ll hit me once,” he said. “My training’s going well — I’m gonna be 100% prepared.”
The veteran made no secret of his view of Robinson’s résumé: he sees a BritSlap champ who’s beaten lesser opposition and not yet faced the top-level heat of Power Slap. That, to Siekmann, equals opportunity.
“He was fighting people who didn’t know what they were doing,” Siekmann said. “He hasn’t had any real competition.”
Hitting harder, heavier, hungrier — and climbing to 250 lbs
Siekmann also spoke about adjustments since his loss. He’s trimmed and dialing in weight and strength: currently around 238 pounds and aiming for 250, while keeping body fat in check.
“I’m going to hit him way harder than I’ve ever hit anybody else,” Siekmann said. “I was hitting really hard at the last event. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to actually get to hit somebody.”
That extra power — combined with the veteran’s meticulous study habits — is part of a plan to make this win impossible to ignore.
“I need to make a statement”
Beyond the physical prep, Siekmann admitted the matchup carries a psychological edge: he’s coming off a loss and wants the comeback to be decisive and brutal.
“My last fight didn’t go well. I have to redeem myself here again. It has to be very decisive,” he said. “The more brutal it is for him, the better it will help me getting matched up next time.”
He even framed the bout two ways: either he’s simply beating an unranked opponent, or he’s taking out another organization’s champion — both outcomes that accelerate his return to the top of the divisional mix.
Background noise: Isaac Gunther and the hype machine
Siekmann kept things loose early in the chat — Isaac Gunther (Season 3) was standing behind him, newly in town to help on the sales team and with camp duties. But once the interview turned to fight talk, Siekmann went right back to business.
“It’s gonna be a treat for me,” he joked when asked whether fans would see a trick or treat from him on fight night. “It’s not gonna be like 13, that’s for sure.”
Final word for Louis Robinson: “He’s in way over his head”
When asked what he wants Robinson to hear, Siekmann didn’t sugarcoat it.
“If you die, you die. Lewis is cool — but he’s in way over his head and I’m gonna prove it.”
With power, size targets, and a focused hunger for redemption, James Siekmann is betting on a violent answer in Saudi Arabia — and he’s made it clear he’ll settle for nothing less than a statement finish.
