The Power Slap Combine in Las Vegas introduced us to many new faces, but one stood out for more than just her presence. Jackie Thomas, an MMA fighter from Nampa, Idaho, made her debut into the world of slap fighting with a familiar name behind her—she’s the older sister of former welterweight champion K.O. Chris Thomas.

“He’s the reason I even signed up,” Jackie shared. “He sent me videos, showed me the stance, how to hit. I just want to learn and grow. This is going to be a great experience to add to the book.”

And if day one of the Combine is any indication, Jackie’s already off to a powerful start.

From the Cage to the Table

Jackie isn’t just a fan of combat sports—she’s a competitor. With three amateur MMA fights already under her belt and interest from regional promotions like Q Promotions, she’s no stranger to competition, pressure, and putting it all on the line.

“I love MMA. But I’m open to trying new things, and Power Slap feels like the right thing at the right time.”

Her fighting base comes out of Team No Excuse, an Idaho-based gym where she’s been sharpening her skills, both mentally and physically.

Combine Performance

While Jackie was quick to say she was just learning the ropes, her Power Cube score—19,000—says otherwise. That’s a solid strike number for a debuting female striker, especially on day one of testing.

She also impressed during the stance and slap mechanics drills, where she worked primarily with former light heavyweight champion Robert Trujillo.

“Robert was amazing. He went really in depth with his explanations. He helped us with our stance, our power base, and how to avoid pivoting like we do in MMA.”

Jackie also rubbed shoulders with the likes of Anthony Blackburn and Wolverine, taking in notes from the champions who’ve paved the way in the sport.

Carrying On the Thomas Legacy

Being related to a legend like K.O. Chris is both a motivator and a challenge—but Jackie seems ready to make her own name.

“Chris and I are close. He’s been helping me a lot. And if he wants that rematch with Anthony [Blackburn]… I think Anthony should do it. Keep the excitement going.”

With that kind of energy, it’s clear Jackie is here not just to participate—but to win.

What’s Next?

With day two of the Combine now behind her, Jackie awaits a possible contract from Power Slap brass. But she’s not putting life on pause.

“I’m going to stay focused, keep training, and use what I learned here to improve every day.”

And if she gets that call?

“I’ll be ready. One hundred percent.”
