The main event of Power Slap 13 is more than just a championship fight—it’s a spiritual journey, a family legacy, and a shot at redemption. On June 27, Dayne Viernes will step into the slap circle in Las Vegas to challenge the undefeated super heavyweight champion, Dumpling, in what many are calling the most personal matchup in Power Slap history.
This isn’t just a title bout. This is a mission to bring the belt back to the Viernes family—a belt Dumpling took when he defeated Dayne’s older brother, Da Crazy Hawaiian.
“Man, I’m super excited and blessed for this opportunity,” Dayne told Slap News. “To become a legend, you’ve got to take out a legend. Dumpling is very good—no fouls, super disciplined—but this is a dream come true, and it’s all lining up through God’s will.”
From Underdog to Headliner
For much of his career, Dayne has lived in his brother’s shadow, often fighting on the undercard while Da Crazy Hawaiian headlined. But with his brother dropping down to heavyweight, the spotlight now falls directly on Dayne.
“This is the dream I’ve been talking about,” he said. “I’m all in. Whether it’s with the left or the right, I’m coming to knock him out and glorify Jesus Christ doing it.”
From Casual to Committed
Viernes admits he hasn’t always taken the sport seriously.
“I didn’t train like I should have before,” he said. “But now, I’ve bought the gear, I visualize Dumpling’s face on the training dummy, and I’m putting in the work—just me and God in the garage.”
While distractions in Las Vegas and temptations of the fight lifestyle have challenged him, Dayne credits his faith for keeping him grounded.
“If it weren’t for Jesus Christ, I’d probably be in jail or worse,” he said. “He’s the reason I’m still here. I battle not just physically but spiritually, and I rely on the Word to keep me moving forward.”
Faith, Family, and Firepower
Viernes sees this matchup not only as a title opportunity, but as a spiritual calling.
“All I have to do is show up and let the power of God work,” he explained. “If it’s His will, I’ll be victorious.”
He plans to bring a level of unpredictability and raw power that Dumpling hasn’t seen.
“I’m gonna try and rock him—left or right. It doesn’t matter,” Dayne said. “I’ve watched his fights, including against Zales. If I take out Dumpling, I want Zales next.”
And while Dumpling has never been knocked down or out in Power Slap, Dayne believes his emotional intensity and evolving technique can change that.
“I’m not just going to hit him—I want to shake something in him. Make him feel it. Collect that skull,” he said.
The Weight of the Moment
With family in the crowd, all eyes on him, and the belt on the line, Dayne knows this is bigger than just another fight.
“I might cry—I’m not gonna lie,” he said. “We’re trying to bring the whole family to Vegas. And if the Lord gives me that belt, I’m giving all glory to Jesus Christ. This is for my brother, my family, and my faith.”
He knows his true treasure isn’t gold—but this fight is a piece of a much larger purpose.
“My riches are not on Earth—they’re in Heaven,” he said. “But that doesn’t mean I won’t slap Dumpling silly first.”
Message to Dumpling
Looking directly into the camera, Dayne left Dumpling with one final message:
“In Hawaii, we call dumplings ‘manapuas’—and I’m gonna get full off some manapuas. Let’s go.”
