Slap Fight Championship’s Gold Rush event delivered another wild night of action, but one of the biggest moments belonged to Grizzly, who defeated the legendary Tim Silva in a hard-hitting rematch.
After falling short in their first encounter, Grizzly came back stronger, smarter, and more dangerous than ever—securing a monumental win that’s been years in the making.
“It still feels surreal,” Grizzly said. “Well-deserved, I think.”
Redemption and Respect
Heading into the bout, the pressure was sky high.
“People kept saying I had it in the bag,” he said. “That adds a lot of nerves. But I was more ready than ever.”
Grizzly credits that readiness to tightening up his defensive technique—something he admits he lacked in their first meeting.
“I came in with a bit of an ego last time. Thought I could just eat slaps with a loose neck and jaw. I was way wrong.”
This time, he absorbed Silva’s best shots—ten slaps in a row—and kept moving forward.
“That was probably the hardest I’ve ever been hit by a slap.”
Shoulder Shrugs, Tucks & Tactical Adjustments
Grizzly said Silva came into this rematch more defensively focused, even tucking his chin and shrugging his shoulders to minimize impact.
“It’s smart to do,” he said. “But the refs will catch you if you do it too much.”
Despite the tricks, Grizzly was confident in his aim and power, finding his target consistently throughout the fight.
Arm Wrestling Power Translates to Slap Fighting
A longtime arm wrestler, Grizzly attributes much of his power and durability to that unique training style.
“I train my arms every day—tendons, muscles, everything,” he explained. “Most slappers have wrecked elbows after a match. Mine are always fine.”
He encouraged others in the sport to adopt arm-wrestling-inspired training methods to strengthen their frame and recovery.
Offense or Defense? Grizzly Picks His Strength
While he’s certainly capable of delivering a knockout, Grizzly sees his defense as his biggest asset.
“I’ve only ever put out one guy—Danny Steel. Tim I dropped a few times. But my defense? That’s where I feel strongest.”
House Party Vibes & Streaming Stardom
Gold Rush had a unique feel—a tight, intimate venue packed with influencers and fans standing just feet away. Grizzly loved it.
“It felt personal,” he said. “Kai, AMP, and MoistCr1TiKaL were all there bringing energy. Everyone was having a good time.”
The setting was different from a traditional slap event—but in all the right ways.
What’s Next for Grizzly?
He’s not picky—he just wants to face the best.
“Let JT and Slap Fight Championship know: if you want to test it, bring it,” he said. “I want to be hands down the best in the slap game. And I’ll beat whoever I have to beat to get there.”
