Cody Young’s Time to Shine
For Cody Young, Power Slap XII isn’t just another fight—it’s his moment to prove that he belongs among the best.
The Team Terpin product from Road to the Title Season 3 is ready to make a statement in the light heavyweight division as he takes on former heavyweight Logan Greenhall, who is making his divisional debut.
“I’ve been dialing in my work. What you guys saw on the show? It’s nothing like what you’re about to see. I can’t wait to prove my worth,” Young said.
With a new mindset, improved technique, and relentless determination, Young believes he’s more dangerous than ever before.
From Road to the Title to the Big Stage
Young’s run on Road to the Title Season 3 was a gritty display of toughness and determination.
Trained under Ryan “Terp” Phillips, Young embraced the blue-collar work ethic that his coach preached.
“I’m a dog-eat-dog world kind of guy. If you want to be the best, you have to train like the best,” Young explained.
Despite securing a win on the show, Young wasn’t satisfied with his performance. Since then, he’s gone all-in on improving his technique, power, and defense.
“I’ve been training my jaw, my hand strength, my accuracy—it’s crazy the amount of work I’ve been putting in,” he said.
The Challenge: Logan Greenhall Drops Down in Weight
Standing in Young’s way is Logan Greenhall, a battle-tested heavyweight dropping down to light heavyweight.
Greenhall brings a 3-1 record, making him an immediate threat to the division. But Young isn’t backing down.
“The only thing I’ve seen from him is the amount of stepping and flinching he does. I’ve got nothing against him, but if the refs keep their eyes on that, I don’t think I’m going to have a problem,” Young stated.
While Greenhall’s power and size will make him dangerous, Young believes his precision, speed, and clean technique will be the difference.
The Road to the Rankings
The light heavyweight division is undergoing a massive shift following the retirement of former champion Wolverine.
With a title now vacant and contenders like Isaiah Quinones, Brandon Bordeaux, and John Davis jockeying for position, the division is looking for new blood to rise up the rankings.
For Young, a win over Greenhall could land him inside the top 10, setting him up for even bigger matchups.
“This is a stepping stone. Logan was ranked in heavyweight, but if I beat him, I deserve a spot in the rankings. Ninth or tenth, maybe, but I’ll be on my way up.”
A Canadian Warrior Ready for Battle
Young may be stepping into the Las Vegas spotlight, but he’s grinding through frigid Canadian conditions to prepare for this fight.
Training north of Toronto, he’s embracing the -30°C cold as part of his preparation.
“Any extra warmth I can get, I’ll take it. Maybe the beard stays, maybe it goes before the fight—we’ll see,” he joked.
As the first Canadian on Power Slap XII, Young has the opportunity to put his country on the map in the sport.
Final Words for Logan Greenhall
Young kept it simple and respectful when asked if he had a message for his opponent.
“Buddy, watch that stepping. Let’s keep it clean. Let’s have a good fight and put on a show.”
But make no mistake—this is business.
“I don’t want this going to decision. I’m looking for the knockout.”
