After more than a year on the sidelines, Bryce Jones is finally stepping back up to the Power Slap table. And he’s not coming quietly.
Set to face #6-ranked Zakir at Power Slap 13 on June 27, Bryce isn’t just chasing a win—he’s out to take everything Zakir’s been given.
“They want to strap a rocket ship to him? I’m gonna rip it off and strap it to mine,” said Jones. “He’s not worthy of that ranking. I’m going to prove it.”
A Year of Silence, Now a Statement Fight
Since making his debut, Bryce has watched from the outside as other strikers—like Pono Paul, James Seekman, West Mena, and Garren Turner—earned spots and opportunities he believes should’ve been his.
“It was discouraging. I got placed at #10, won my fight, then sat for a year. I kept grinding, stayed ready, and now I’m going to show why I belong.”
Training in Vegas, Bryce stayed close to the sport—working with other fighters at the Apex during early Power Slap camps and sharpening his technique. That persistence finally paid off.
On Zakir: “I Hit Way Harder Than His Last Opponent”
Zakir enters this match with international stardom behind him. A rising name in Kazakhstan and Russia, he brings strength, toughness, and a loyal following. But Bryce isn’t impressed.
“He’s a big, strong guy, sure. But I don’t think it’s functional strength. I hit way harder than his last opponent. If he throws a palm again, I’m putting him out.”
Bryce did give Zakir credit for his composure under fire, saying, “He’s got a set on him—he’ll stand there and eat it.” But that’s where the compliments end.
“I haven’t seen anything impressive in his striking. Unless he comes with something new, it’s gonna be a bad night.”
A Whole New Swing
Jones says fans should expect a completely different striker this time around.
“Everything is different now. I’ve changed my swing, I’ve added more power, and I’ve stopped overthinking. On the show, I was just another guy swinging like everyone else. Now? I’ve got my own style—something dangerous.”
He credits Pono Paul with introducing a new technique, which he’s since refined and made his own.
“Even guys like Tyler and Darren Godfrey picked it up. But now I’ve got it locked in, and I’m coming hungry.”
“I’m Going to Echo Through That Ballroom”
When asked why this fight should be the opening main card bout, Bryce didn’t hesitate.
“This match will be talked about more than the title fights. Heavy hits. Big energy. I’m going to make a sound that echoes through the ballroom like no one’s heard before.”
Final Message to Zakir
“You club me illegally, I’m sending your ass to Receiptsville. No bad blood—but I want my spot, and I’m taking it.”
What’s at Stake
With Paige VanZant and Michelle Brown reportedly off the main card, Bryce vs. Zakir could be the fight that steals the show. For Bryce Jones, it’s more than a comeback—it’s a reclamation of the respect he feels was lost.
Power Slap 13 goes down June 27 at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Don’t blink when these two meet—because one of them might not be getting back up.
