Not long ago, Austin Boeheimer was scrapping in basements, training in the shadows with nothing but gloves and grit. Now, the Syracuse, New York native just wrapped up the Power Slap Combine in Las Vegas—training under champions, slapping pads at the Apex, and proving he belongs.

“As soon as I slapped that pad and they all corrected me—my foot, my hand, the wind-up—I knew I was in the right place,” Boeheimer said. “This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for.”

“Bonehead” by Brand and by Belief

His nickname? Bonehead—a title given to him by his coach, not out of disrespect, but for his relentless, sometimes reckless, pursuit of challenges most would run from.

“I like doing things no one else wants to do,” he explained. “Nobody wants to stand there and get cracked in the jaw by another grown man. That’s why I’m here.”

It’s not just a gimmick—it’s a mindset. A boneheaded one, perhaps. But one built on confidence, chaos, and courage.

From Basement Boxing to the Bright Lights

With a background in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and amateur MMA, Boeheimer didn’t just stumble into Power Slap—he was drawn to it.

“The stars aligned. As soon as I saw it, I knew I was made for this.”

After applying earlier this year, he got the call from Erica—and without hesitation, jumped on a ten-hour flight to Vegas.

“I don’t travel much, so it was surreal. Being around Wolverine, Blackburn, Trujillo… those are the best in the world.”

A Fast Learner with a Chip on His Shoulder

Though naturally a 145-pounder, Boeheimer’s training with lightweights at the Combine held up. He logged a power cube score of 33,000 and a neck strength score over 430, staying competitive across the board.

But more importantly, he showed growth.

“You can watch my Day 1 video and my Day 2 slap. Night and day. That’s what happens when you listen to champions.”

The humility is there—but so is the fire. If someone’s better, he doesn’t resent it. He studies it. Then surpasses it.

“I don’t take losses well. If I see another lightweight doing something better, I go harder. Every time.”

Bonehead’s Blueprint: Slap, Learn, Slap Again

His biggest surprise at the Combine? The brains behind the brawn.

“I expected some tough guys, but these are smart dudes. Wolverine? That guy’s sharp as hell. Respect to all of them.”

When asked who he models his game after, Boeheimer didn’t hesitate:

“Blackburn’s my guy. He’s my favorite. I DM’d him before this. That chin, that timing—dude’s a machine.”

Though he’s not part of the Right-On-One Army just yet, Boeheimer’s found his own rhythm.

“One felt too soon, three felt too long. Two’s my sweet spot. For now.”

The Future of Bonehead

Still waiting to see if a contract is coming, Boeheimer is already in full-time work mode—training like a fight is already booked.

“Give me a few months, and it’s going to be a problem. If this was just the beginning, imagine what’s next.”
