It’s been over a year since Alan Klingbeil stepped into the Power Slap arena — and he’s not coming back quietly.
On June 27th at Power Slap 13, Klingbeil gets a second crack at Luke Simons, the man who handed him a split-decision loss in their first meeting. This time, Alan’s message is clear: “I’m going to knock your ass out.”
“How Many Handouts Does Luke Need?”
Klingbeil didn’t hold back when talking about his return.
“How many handouts do they have to give Luke Simons before they reach out to the Kryptonian?”
“I guess they realized he’s not that interesting. So they called me to bring the thunder — bring the rain.”
While grateful for the second opportunity, Klingbeil sees this as a redemption arc. He believes he won their last match and is determined to erase any doubt.
“Two of the judges had me winning. You didn’t put me down. I moved you out of the box. I wasn’t even at my best. But this time? I’m coming for you.”
Rested, Refocused, and Reworked
When asked about ring rust after a long layoff, Klingbeil acknowledged it’s always a concern but sees the time away as a benefit.
“I’ve had long layoffs before, and I came back better. More rested. My chin felt stronger. My brain felt sharper. And we’re talking about Luke Simons here — I’ll be just fine.”
A Strategic Slap Evolution
Klingbeil hinted at a new wrinkle in his slap arsenal — one that Luke Simons himself caught wind of after watching a Slap News interview with Alan.
“This is a new sport. We experimented early. We had to figure out what works. Some guys slap flat. Others use arcs. Me? I’ve got something different up my sleeve.”
He made it clear: he’s not abandoning the old, but he’s adding a new dimension that could surprise even a 4-0 striker like Simons.
What If He Gets the First Slap?
“If I get to go first, I can do some real damage — maybe even put him down in the opening round. If not, I still have myself winning it by the third. But no, this one won’t the judges.”
Mutual Faith, Temporary Enemies
Despite the trash talk, Klingbeil admits there’s a level of respect between the two.
“We’re both believers in Christ. We’ve encouraged each other behind the scenes. But right now? We’re enemies. He’s my arch nemesis, and I intend to put him out for as long as possible.”
Final Message for Luke Simons
“Luke, I hope you’re training hard. I don’t think you are. You had a lucky night once. That’s not happening again. Bring every hour of training you can — because I’m bringing everything I’ve got.”
Power Slap 13 goes down June 27 at Fontainebleau Las Vegas — and this rematch is more than personal. It’s unfinished business.
