In Saudi Arabia, the women’s Power Slap division took center stage again — and sitting ringside was one of its biggest names, Abby Montes, watching Sheena Bathory deliver a statement win over Robyn Wereshchuk. After the match, Abby spoke exclusively with Slap News, sharing her thoughts on Bathory’s performance and a potential showdown that could make Power Slap history.
“She’s tough. She’s got real power.”
Abby didn’t hold back her respect for Bathory’s striking ability.
“She’s tough. She’s really, really strong — she’s got very good power,” said Abby. “I think me and Jackie are the only women to finish fights like that, with knockouts. It was an amazing performance.”
It’s been a while since fans last saw Bathory in action, and she made her return in emphatic fashion — confident, powerful, and already setting her sights on Montes.
“This match needs to happen — it’s for the belt.”
When asked about Bathory’s public callout, Abby didn’t hesitate.
“Yeah, I’m excited for this match,” she said. “I think me and her are the most dangerous in the division — 145. This fight needs to happen, and I think it should be for the belt. Everyone wants to see it.”
Abby’s confidence was clear. She believes she’s ready now and doesn’t need a warm-up fight before facing Bathory.
“I’m ready. If Power Slap wants me to take one more, it’s okay — but I’m not scared of anyone,” she explained. “She’s super strong, and I’m strong. We’re both ready.”
“The first women’s belt — we’re making history.”
For Abby, this potential matchup represents more than just another fight. It’s about legacy.
“This would be the first women’s title fight in Power Slap,” she said. “I’m excited for that. She’s back, she looks strong, and I’m ready too. It’s time to open the door for women in Power Slap.”
Abby also highlighted what this fight could mean for female athletes worldwide.
“This isn’t just about me or her,” she explained. “It’s for every woman in the world — to show we’re strong, that we can do the same thing the men do. It’s a great opportunity for all of us.”
Respect — but no friends in the cage
Despite a friendly relationship with Bathory off-stage, Abby made it clear that once the matchup is official, it’s all business.
“Yeah, she texted me before saying if she wins, maybe we fight for the belt,” Abby recalled. “I said, let’s go. She knows I’m dangerous, and I know she’s dangerous. It’s the only option.”
“We’re both warriors.”
Abby closed out the interview with a passionate message to Power Slap brass — especially Frank.
“This match needs to happen because she’s tough and I’m tough. She’s a warrior, I’m a warrior. Whatever happens, it’s going to be super exciting,” she said. “This is for the belt and for women everywhere.”
Abby Montes vs. Sheena Bathory — it’s not official yet, but if the Power Slap organization wants to make history, this is the fight fans are waiting for.
