The stakes are high, the fire is lit, and KO Chris Thomas is back with one mission: avenge his loss to Emmanuel Muniz.
On June 27 at Power Slap 13 in Las Vegas, Thomas will step into the slap circle for a highly anticipated three-round rematch against the man who handed him his first Power Slap defeat back at Power Slap 6.
“This is what I asked for,” Chris told Slap News. “I’ve always wanted to go face the guys I’ve lost to. Manny gives me the kind of challenge I like, and I’m excited to show the world what I can really do.”
Climbing Back After the Fall
Chris’s Power Slap journey hasn’t been without turbulence. After a meteoric rise, he hit a rough patch, including a tough loss to Anthony Blackburn.
“I was in my own head for over a year,” he admitted. “Second-guessing myself, shutting myself down, and that’s the worst thing you can do in this sport. But I’ve learned—you don’t give up on yourself.”
Now, after rebounding with a win over Chris Debo, KO Chris says he’s back to his roots: confident, sharp, and focused.
From Bad Blood to Mutual Respect
Surprisingly, the tension between Thomas and Muniz has cooled since their first clash.
“Without words, we just squashed it,” Chris explained. “We shook hands, and I even offered to help him out when he was facing Blackburn. It’s competition, but there’s respect there now.”
Still, Thomas is clear—respect doesn’t mean holding back.
“I’m telling you, I’m going to hit him in ways he’s never been hit before. I was hitting too high last time, but this time? I’m going to use my whole hand, aim right, and smash through him.”
Why This Fight Means Everything
For KO Chris, this fight isn’t just about rankings—it’s about redemption and proving he’s still championship material.
“This match means everything to me,” he said. “More than anything else except a title fight. I’ve got people doubting me, waiting for me to fall—and that makes me more ready than ever.”
Reflecting on past setbacks, Thomas admitted he wasn’t fully recovered for his last fight against Blackburn.
“I wasn’t healed, but I took that match because I was going through stuff in my life,” he said. “Power Slap has changed my life, and I’m not going back to old ways. I’m focused, I’m professional, and I’m ready.”
The Monster Awakens
KO Chris knows fans expect fireworks—and he promises to deliver.
“I’ve got this energy in me, and when I’m like this, everyone can feel it,” he said. “I’m coming back to crush jaws and show the world what a fluke looks like when I’m confident and ready.”
And with the match set for just three rounds, Chris says he’s laser-focused on precision.
“Easy peasy,” he grinned. “I just need to focus on my shots, make them count, and get it done.”
A Message for Manny Muniz
Looking directly into the camera, Chris had this to say to his opponent:
“Manny Muniz, that was your night before, but I’m telling you—I will leave victorious this time. You and Blackburn woke up the monster. I’m coming back to crush your jaw, bro. I’ll shake your hand, then knock you out.”
