She’s been called “The Lady of Boxing.” A former world champion and pound-for-pound staple in women’s boxing, Ava Knight is now writing a new chapter—one slap at a time.

Coming off an impressive performance at the first-ever Power Slap Combine, Knight didn’t just show up—she showed out, surprising fans and fellow competitors with her strength, precision, and champion’s mentality.

“I hit that Power Cube harder than any girl that day,” Knight said confidently. “I know I belong here.”

A Legacy of Combat

Ava Knight’s combat sports résumé speaks for itself. She turned professional in boxing before women were even allowed to compete in the Olympics. She became a world champion in her early 20s, competing across multiple weight classes and earning the respect of fans around the globe.

When politics made progress harder to achieve in boxing, she pivoted to MMA, going 1-1 in her two fights and earning admiration for her adaptability and grit.

“I just have such a competitive heart,” Knight told Slap News. “I was tired of politics. I wanted to do something I could be great at—without having to please anybody but myself.”

Now, she’s setting her sights on a new frontier: Power Slap.

Natural Power, New Purpose

At the Combine, Ava clocked in a massive 25,000+ on the Power Cube—one of the highest scores among the women in attendance.

“It’s not a hook. It’s not a punch,” she explained. “But the muscles you use? They’re the same. I’ve already got the strength—I just need to fine-tune the technique.”

Training under the guidance of slap veterans Robert Trujillo, Anthony Blackburn, and Wolverine, Ava soaked up every minute.

“They’re monsters,” she laughed. “Super nice guys—but you can see the crazy in their eyes. I loved being around that energy.”

A Mother, A Fighter, A Force

Outside of competition, Ava is a full-time mom to two young children.

“Being a mom gives me perspective,” she said. “Kids get excited about everything, and it reminds me to enjoy life more.”

That joy, that competitive drive, and that elite athletic foundation are what make Ava Knight one of the most intriguing names in Power Slap’s next wave of female strikers.

“I don’t need to change much. I feel strong, I feel sharp, and I’m ready.”

With divisions still being shaped at 115 and 125 pounds, there’s no question that Knight is on the shortlist for a contract. And when that call comes from Erica and the Power Slap brass—Ava will be ready.
