March 7 | Fontainebleau, Las Vegas
For Chris Debow, this moment has been brewing for over two years. From the very first Power Slap event, he set his sights on K.O. Chris Thomas—and now, at Power Slap XII, the time has finally come.
“Since Power Slap 1, I shook his hand, met him, told him I’d seen season one, and I wanted him to hold the title whenever I took it from him,” Debow recalls. “It’s taken longer than I expected, but we’re finally here.”
This welterweight grudge match is one of the most anticipated battles of the event, pitting an original Power Slap superstar against a relentless underdog looking to make a statement.
K.O. Chris Thomas: A Legend Looking for Redemption
Once the face of Power Slap, K.O. Chris Thomas started his career 5-0 with five knockouts. He built his legacy with highlight-reel finishes, but in his most recent matches, he suffered back-to-back losses to Manny Muniz and Anthony Blackburn.
For Debow, this shift in momentum gives him confidence.
“I think his chin was always in question because he kept knocking people out,” Debow says. “Manny and Blackburn putting him out definitely makes you think—maybe his chin isn’t there.”
That being said, he knows Thomas has been training harder than ever.
“He says he used to come off the couch for fights, but now he’s been in the gym. If he’s really taking it seriously, we’ll see a different K.O. Chris. But if he’s still underestimating people, it’ll be another bad night for him.”
Chris Debow: Adding Power to His Defense
One of Debow’s biggest strengths has always been his defense—his ability to absorb shots and stay in the fight. But heading into this match, he’s focused on his offense, determined to bring a new level of explosiveness to his strikes.
“Oh yeah. I’ve been watching film, refining my technique, and focusing on the follow-through,” Debow says. “I’m ready to rip his f**ing head off.”*
With this fight being one of the biggest in his career, Debow sees it as an opportunity to cement himself as one of the top welterweights in Power Slap.
“This sport has grown so much. I’m just excited to be a part of it. It’s time to show that I belong at the top.”
Winning the Coin Toss: A Game-Changer?
One of the biggest advantages in Power Slap is winning the coin toss—and Debow will be striking first.
“That’s the biggest thing Chris Thomas has to worry about. He knows I get to go first, and he better be ready,” Debow warns.
Thomas, however, isn’t concerned.
“I’ve never gone down on the first shot. He better hit me with everything he’s got.”
Face-Off Tension: Will the Fireworks Continue?
The rivalry between these two exploded on Smack Talk Live, where trash talk turned personal. But now that fight week is here, Debow believes the animosity is fading—at least a little.
“Honestly, I think it’s died down a little bit,” Debow says. “We’ve talked, and at the end of the day, it’s business. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to knock him out.”
While there may not be any wild brawls at the weigh-ins, Debow says there’s still a lot on the line in this fight.
“K.O. Chris is still the guy to beat. Even if he’s lost his last two fights, people still know his name. If you’re in Power Slap, you’ve thought about fighting him at some point. I want to be the one to put an end to his career.”
Final Words for K.O. Chris Thomas
With fight night just days away, Debow had one last message for his longtime rival.
“Dude, I hope you’re ready. I know you’ve been working hard, but so have I. And you better not be up there thinking about your post-fight speech—because you might not get the chance to give one.”
