Power Slap XI kicks off 2025 with one of the most anticipated matchups of the year: Sheena Bathory versus Jackie Catiline. After nearly a year away from competition, Sheena is ready to step back on the stage and prove herself in this thrilling rematch. We spoke with Sheena about her journey, her training, and what fans can expect on January 30th in Saudi Arabia.

Ready for the Rematch

It’s been nearly a year since Sheena last competed in Power Slap, and she’s eager to return to action.
“Thank you for the opportunity for this interview,” Sheena began. “It’s been almost a year since my last event. I was really looking forward to my return, but last year was difficult with some health issues. Now, I finally feel ready, and it’s going to happen.”

The rematch with Jackie Catiline is particularly meaningful for Sheena. Their first meeting ended in controversy, with Sheena claiming victory via disqualification. This time, she’s determined to leave no doubt.
“Honestly, I think Jackie has improved a lot,” Sheena said. “I’ve watched her recent fights, and her technique is really great. She’s succeeded in MMA too, so I think this will be a great rematch between two much more experienced fighters.”

Returning to Her Roots

The past year has been transformative for Sheena. After facing personal and physical challenges, she made the decision to move back to Hungary, a change that has reinvigorated her both mentally and physically.
“Last year was very difficult. My dad had a serious health issue—he almost died. I decided to move back to Hungary to be with my family. I also had breast implant surgery and felt disconnected from my roots after spending more than three and a half years in the United States,” she shared.

Returning to her homeland has reawakened her passion for the sport.
“My father was my first coach,” Sheena explained. “We started training judo in a small room in our house. Being back with my family brings back those memories and gives me so much power. Now, I train at an incredible MMA gym here, and the training partners are physically strong—similar to the genetics of Russian athletes. It’s intense, and I feel stronger than ever.”

Staying Focused and Disciplined

The rematch will take place at featherweight, a weight class Sheena feels comfortable with despite her intense training schedule.
“Since moving back to Hungary, my weight is naturally lower. I’m around 157 pounds (72 kilos), and my diet and training have been very consistent. I train two to three times a day and feel great. My body is adjusting, and I feel more disciplined and motivated than ever before.”

Sheena’s renewed focus extends beyond Power Slap. Her training in MMA, boxing, and kickboxing has helped her become a more complete athlete.
“In the past two and a half years, I’ve been training intensely in MMA and boxing. I feel like I’ve truly improved and become more complete as a fighter,” she said.

Looking Ahead to Saudi Arabia

Power Slap XI marks Sheena’s first trip to Saudi Arabia, and she’s excited to embrace the experience.
“I’ve traveled to more than seventy countries during my judo career, but I’ve never been to Saudi Arabia. It’s going to be new for me, and I’m excited to combine this visit with Power Slap,” she said.

While she’s unsure about specific attire regulations for the event, Sheena remains focused on what matters most—her performance.
“I’ll wear whatever Frank or Erika gives me. What matters is putting on a great show for the fans.”

A Message for Jackie

Sheena spoke respectfully about her opponent but left no doubt about her intentions for the rematch.
“Jackie, I’m really excited about our rematch. I respect you for what you’ve achieved in MMA this past year—it makes me even hungrier for this fight. But this time, I’m going to knock you out.”
