Hunter Hassanin is no longer flying under the radar.

After spending much of his early Power Slap career competing on the prelims and dark cards, the undefeated middleweight may have officially punched his ticket to the spotlight following one of the most brutal knockouts of 2026.

And according to Hunter himself, the performance was years in the making.

“We’ve only had time to develop, get stronger and stronger and stronger — and we got to prove it tonight.”

A Year Away Turned Into a Breakthrough Moment

It had been nearly a full year since fans last saw Hassanin compete.

During that time, he stayed grinding, continued building his strength, and waited for another opportunity.

At Power Slap 20, he made sure nobody would forget his name again.

Facing Dante Smiley, Hunter survived adversity early after taking a massive shot that forced him to a knee for the first time in his Power Slap career.

And according to Hunter, the power was very real.

“Dude, he had that .500 Magnum strength. I’m serious.”

But instead of folding, Hunter recovered instantly.

“That’s what we do best. We’re dogs.”

The Knockout That Changed Everything

After weathering the early shot, Hunter returned fire with one of the nastiest knockouts seen in Power Slap this year.

The finish left Dante stiff-legged and nearly unconscious standing up before the match was finally waved off.

Even the commentators reportedly lost it on commentary watching the sequence unfold.

Hunter admitted the entire fight happened so quickly that he barely processed it in real time.

Instead, he said he was mostly focused on adjusting his positioning after officials told him he was too deep during the opening round.

Once he corrected the distance, the finish came immediately after.

“We had readjusted to round two to what we wanted to do and we were able to deliver.”

KO of the Year Candidate?

The reaction backstage made it clear:
this was not just another win.

The knockout instantly sparked conversations about:

  • Performance Bonus
  • Knockout of the Night
  • and potentially Knockout of the Year

Even Slap News called it:

“That’s probably the KO of 2026 at this point.”

Hunter agreed.

“That was absolutely phenomenal.”

What’s Next?

Despite finally getting his breakout moment, Hunter stayed somewhat mysterious when asked who he wants next.

After initially avoiding the question, he simply smiled and said:

“To be continued.”

But one thing feels certain now:
Hunter Hassanin likely will not be fighting on dark cards much longer.

The charisma was already there.

Now he has the viral knockout to match it.
