The Power Slap world just got a serious jolt of star power.

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Bellator MMA standout Jake Hager has officially signed a six-fight deal—and if his first impressions are anything to go by, he’s not here to ease into the sport. He’s here to make noise.

Hager made his first in-person appearance at Power Slap 18, sitting front row and soaking in the action as he prepares for his debut on April 17.

First Impressions: Learning the Game

Watching live for the first time, Hager was immediately struck by the technical side of slap fighting.

“I’m learning so much—just absorbing everything,” Hager said. “You’ve got to be accurate, but bring your hips at the same time.”

And if there’s one thing fans already know about Hager—it’s that he’s not lacking in power.

“If anyone knows Rock Hard Jake Hager… you know he brings his hips.”

Yes, the nickname is sticking.

“Rock Hard” Is Official

When asked about what name he’ll bring into Power Slap, Hager didn’t hesitate:

“It’s the All-American, American Swagger Jack… Rock Hard Jake Hager!”

Love it or hate it—that’s the energy he’s bringing.

A New Challenge, Same Standard

Despite being new to slap fighting, Hager made one thing clear: the standard doesn’t change.

“I perform at a high level—whether that’s wrestling, MMA, or now Power Slap.”

He’s already working with established names in the sport, including Wolverine and The Butcher, as he sharpens his technique ahead of his debut.

“There’s so much you can do to prepare for this. I’ve got great coaches. I’m excited to get back in and work.”

The Age Question

At 43 years old, Hager will become the oldest competitor in Power Slap history when he debuts—but he’s not buying into any doubts.

“I’m not a spring chicken… but I look good. And I’ve still got the power and the strength to take a shot.”

In a sport where durability and knockout power are everything, Hager believes he still has both.

Message to the Division

And if there was any uncertainty about his intentions, Hager erased it with one final message:

“Anybody who goes against me is going down. Big guys, little guys—it doesn’t matter. I’m here to shock the world.”
