Power Slap 15 is set to showcase another big women’s matchup as Taylar Minton makes her debut against Jeslen Mishelle on the taped prelims. For Minton, this is an opportunity she’s been waiting on after her original debut fight was canceled.

Excited for the Opportunity

Minton couldn’t hide her excitement when asked about finally getting the chance to step on stage:

“I was super bummed that the last one got cancelled, but I’m glad that Jeslen is cleared now and she’s good to go. Now we can slap each other.”

Competing at 170 lbs, Minton is ready to bring some extra power to the women’s division. She’s been working on her strength and technique, and the extra time since the canceled bout has only helped sharpen her game.

Training & Preparation

Unlike others who may try to emulate fighters already in Power Slap, Minton has focused on her own technique and fundamentals learned from camp:

“I’ve just been working on my positioning, keeping my feet grounded, and making sure I’m landing clean on the jaw. That’s what I’ve been drilling with the pad work.”

Although she balances training with life in Las Vegas, she says she feels prepared, staying positive that the timing of this fight is perfect.

Respect for Jeslen Mishelle

Interestingly, the two already crossed paths at the gym in Las Vegas:

“She came into Syndicate one day, and I was like, is that the girl I’m slapping? She’s super sweet, and it’s kind of crazy that we’re about to slap each other. I was even like, hey, can we have a drink after this?”

Despite that mutual respect, Minton says she wants to “respectfully knock her out” and prove to the world how strong she really is.

Prediction: Knockout

When asked if a knockout was the goal, Minton didn’t hesitate:

“Yes. Why not? If others are doing it, I can do it too. That’s the plan.”

Looking Ahead

The taped prelim setting means the match won’t have a live crowd, but Minton says she’s ready regardless. She’ll have support from family and teammates at Syndicate, and she’s eager to make a statement in the women’s division.

And as for Jeslen Mishelle, Minton had one final message:

“Respectfully, I hope you’re ready to get knocked out. I’m happy I get to slap first. Who knows? Maybe I only need one.”
