Las Vegas, NV — Power Slap 15 is shaping up to deliver fireworks on October 3rd, and one of the most highly anticipated matchups is the women’s showdown between Ellie Dempster and “Hollywood” Haley J. Both women are fast-rising stars in the division, and their clash promises not just heavy hands but viral moments.

Focused and Prepared

For Dempster, this fight marks her second appearance on the Power Slap stage. Her debut came on short notice against Michael Michelle Brown, where she walked away victorious. This time, with a full camp to prepare, she says the difference is night and day.

“Last time I was just focused on losing weight and not fouling. This time, I’ve been able to train properly and really hone my technique,” Dempster explained. She’s been working alongside fellow Power Slap athletes like Isaiah and Mikey, soaking in lessons from veterans and applying them to her own style.

Respect for Haley J’s Power

Dempster isn’t overlooking her opponent. Haley J impressed in her debut against Jamie Hinshaw, earning a knockout win. But Dempster questions whether that finish was more about Haley’s power or her opponent’s lack of durability.

“I’m not underestimating her. In my head, I’m preparing for Haley to hit like a bull,” Dempster said. “You never know what’s going to happen in this sport, so the mindset has to be to expect the worst and prepare for everything.”

Fighting for a Bigger Purpose

While many competitors are focused solely on wins and rankings, Dempster carries something more into each match. She uses Power Slap as a platform to raise awareness and support for causes close to her heart.

In her debut, she partnered with an NGO in Thailand working to rescue children from trafficking. This time, she’s raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. She’s even having custom shoes designed, which will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the charity.

Beyond that, she’s teaming up with Real Talk Youth Program in Las Vegas to connect with at-risk and underprivileged youth, teaching them how martial arts and structure can turn aggression into discipline and opportunity.

“It keeps me grounded. I’m not just fighting for me. I’m fighting to help others, and that perspective means I win no matter what happens on stage,” she said.

Keys to Victory

When it comes to October 3rd, Dempster says the strategy is simple: stay calm, trust her preparation, and rely on her team.

“Some people don’t think there are teams in Power Slap, but there are. I’ve got great people around me. It’s just about trusting what I’ve trained and not making last-minute changes out of nerves,” she explained.

Message to Haley J

In typical Ellie Dempster fashion, she kept it classy but competitive when addressing her opponent directly:

“Haley, bring all your character, all your energy. Let’s go. We’re going to have fun out there, but I’m coming to show who really deserves to win.”

Dempster vs. Haley J has all the ingredients for a show-stealer at Power Slap 15. With both fighters bringing power, personality, and pride into the cage, fans can expect fireworks when the two meet in Las Vegas.
