Controversial clubbing call overshadows what could’ve been a statement knockout
Brice Jones returned to Power Slap action at Power Slap 13 with one goal in mind: make a statement and climb the heavyweight ranks. While he secured the win, it wasn’t the result he wanted — and the frustration was written all over his face.
“I’m kind of pissed off. We went over the rules. He literally said he wouldn’t club — then he went out and did it.”
The Clubbing That Ruined the Moment
Jones predicted the outcome well in advance, calling out his opponent for having limited technique.
“I knew he was going to club me. That’s the only way he throws. Probably because his shoulders are gone from all that benching.”
Despite being struck illegally, Brice brushed it off with confidence.
“I’ve been hit way harder. James Stonier hits way harder than that.”
Still, the infraction took away the moment he’d been waiting over a year for — a clean knockout win to re-establish himself in the division.
Season 3 Underdog No More?
After being largely overlooked since Road to the Title Season 3, Brice saw this fight as his shot to put everyone on notice.
“I set out for a whole year just waiting… and now I get clubbed. I don’t get the result I wanted, which was to knock his ass out and start climbing the rankings.”
With his opponent previously ranked #6, the win was supposed to be a breakout. Instead, it left Jones eager — and angry — for another opportunity.
What’s Next: Brice Wants Aaron Turner
Jones already has a name on his radar for the next bout: Aaron Turner.
“I feel like he’s another dude that shouldn’t be ranked where he’s at. Let’s go, Aaron.”
Despite the 28-day medical suspension, Jones says he’ll be ready — and next time, he’s hoping to win the coin toss and end it early.
“Hopefully I win the toss next time. One and done. That’s what I wanted.”
A Win’s a Win — But the Mission Remains
Jones may have walked away with the victory, but he’s still chasing his moment. With the heavyweight division heating up and plenty of top-tier names left to battle, don’t expect Brice Jones to stay quiet for long.
