From combat sports to slap fighting — Ellie makes a statement in her Power Slap debut

Ellie Dempster may not have won in the fashion she hoped, but her Power Slap 13 debut still ended with her hand raised. In a match against top contender Mikael Michelle Brown, Ellie earned her first official win — and made a strong impression doing it.

“I think I did really well on the first and second slap. They seemed accurate, strong. I was really proud of them.”

Slaps That Surprised Even Her

Stepping into a new sport is never easy, but Dempster quickly found her rhythm. She admitted she was surprised at how effective her slaps were from the very first round.

“I thought maybe the first one would be a little different, but I felt like they were strong and accurate.”

The sound of her shots echoed throughout the arena — even though the win didn’t come by knockout, the performance still made noise.

Taking the Hit: “I Hyped It Up Worse Than It Was”

One of the biggest surprises for Dempster? How it felt to take a slap — especially from someone like Mikael Michelle Brown.

“I hyped it up way worse than it was. She slapped me and I thought, ‘Wait, this is what I was waiting for?’”

Having experience in karate combat and Muay Thai, Dempster compared the slap power to her past bouts — and didn’t hold back.

“Yes, absolutely. I’ve been rocked harder. I’ll take that over how I train and fight any day.”

Eyes on the 125 Division — and Paige VanZant

With the women’s 125 division continuing to grow, Dempster knows big fights are ahead. When asked about a potential showdown with Paige VanZant, she didn’t hesitate.

“I would take it right now. If they lined it up, I wouldn’t knock the opportunity.”

Still, she’s open to proving herself further if needed.

“If I need to earn a win on my own, so be it. But either way — if you line up a fight, I’ll take it.”

Honored as the Official Vechain Athlete of the Night

Dempster was named the official Vechain athlete of the night at Power Slap 13 — a first for the promotion. For her, it’s more than just a title.

“I’m absolutely honored. What Vechain does is amazing — everything is about sustainability and authenticity on the blockchain.”

She also shouted out BYB, a supplement that helped her shed 21 pounds in three weeks in preparation for her debut.

What’s Next?

With her first Power Slap win behind her and a willingness to fight anyone in the division, Ellie Dempster has firmly planted herself as one to watch. Whether it’s Paige VanZant or another rising contender, expect to see Ellie back in the cage — and ready to earn her next win her way.
